Many tourists automatically assume that they are being overcharged in gay clubs just because they are tourists. Actually, the prices mentioned above are almost standard and paid by Turkish people as well, who have much less income then the Western tourists. It is true that gay bars are more expensive than other bars and clubs in Turkey. It is mainly because their customer potential is smaller than the straight bars and the taxes on alcoholic drinks are very high in Turkey. Also note that 10:30 p.m is too early to go to gay night clubs. Night clubs will usually be busy after midnight. And the sofas are usually reserved by groups. So none of these - understandably annoying things - are happening to you because you are tourists. You can be sure that there are many Turkish people who spend much more money than you would in these clubs.

We are not intending to defend this or any other gay club specifically, but we just feel the need to clarify a very common misconception.
